24th Annual Scarecrow Competition
Come to Stony Brook Village Center and build a scarecrow…if you dare! Gather your friends, scout group, club, or family and create your own unique scarecrow for display in Stony Brook Village throughout the month of October. Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place in each of three categories — professional, adult/family, and children. Registration is $15 per group, and the deadline is October 3rd. Winners will be announced at the Halloween Festival on Friday, October 31st.

21st Annual Walk for Beauty
Register now for the 21st Annual Walk for Beauty … in a beautiful place. In addition to the 4K/6K Walk, there will also be a “color” option this year, with participants selecting this option splashed with environmentally safe, non-allergenic powdered paint along the walk’s route. Also new this year is the “Hercules on the Harbor” 10K Run. Both the walk and run will be followed by Family Day Festivities at the Stony Brook Village Center. All proceed go directy to a targeted research fund at Stony Brook Medicine for Breast Cancer research.
